If you'd like to taste local delicacies, this probably is the best place to go. The atmosphere here is like an old school style stalls. The opening hours is for lunch and dinner, except on Sunday it opens at 6 am with a breakfast menu as Doclang, Kupat know, porridge Hayam village, sangu fried cheese, fried sangu golodog jeans, etc. You wouldn't know what they are until you taste it for yourself. It's rather hard for me to explain here. Please understand. For those authentic food you only need to pay the affordable cost. Starting from Rp. 500 for chili oncom up to Rp. 7,000 for squid oil.

Besides their authentic Sundanese food, Bancakan also succeed to set up the interior as authentic as possible. It really represents the atmosphere you get in Sundanese 'kampung' (village). Even they serve us with tin plates and cups. The stove is also still using old traditional Sundanese style 'hawu', fueled with firewoods.

Reading Light Second-hand Bookshop

Located at Jl. Siliwangi, northern of Bandung.

Avant-garde boutiques in converted old houses, quaint places where you can indulge in tasty treats — these are the things that Bandung is famous for. But not many visitors to the city know that tucked away in the corners of this shoppers paradise are little bookshops just as chic and cozy. And they also have a lot to offer.

At the time, apart from bookstores selling textbooks near the city’s many colleges, there were only two places in Bandung where you could buy imported books.

Reading Lights made a point of treating customers not as kings but as friends. The store opens its doors to groups needing a venue for activities like movie screenings or backpacker gatherings, as well as hobby circles, from knitting to origami to sketching and storytelling.

Customers can also enjoy drinks named after famous authors like Neil Gaiman coffee (“It’s very sweet with a touch of bitter.”) or the David Sedaris mocktail (“It’s rather tart”), while nibbling at a Charles Dickens Sandwich at the store’s cafe.

Aleut Community! is a non nonprofit community with the members of young people who love more about her hometown history and want to learn more about it in a more pleasing way, by appreciation of history and travel. Since its establishment in 2006, Aleut Community! tried to present the history of Bandung in the daily life language. Here you can find a vast variety of second-hand books, magazines, and other printed materials to select and purchase: from books on engineering and electronics to FHM Magazines, most of the time you can find whatever you want here. Also, most of the time you do not have to worry about the quality of the books: usually they are still readable and still in good conditions (despite perhaps a bit rough on the covers due to overexposure to direct sunlight.)

It is located near the famous Braga Street. Just go southern besides the Asia-Africa Museum, you will find PLN Building (National Electricity Company). The book market is just beside the PLN Building by the river of Cikapundung.

The museum is located at Jalan Lembong, in front of the Panghegar Hotel and the Telephone Office, which is easily reached by the city transportation of Ledeng-Kebon Kelapa and Dago-Kebon Kalapa.

The name of the street where the museum is located, Jl. Lembong was taken from the name of Lt. Col. Lembong, a Siliwangi soldier who became a victim in the event of APRA. Before the name was used, the road was called Oude Hospitaalweg.

Bursa Musik (Old Imported Phonograph Records)

Bandung is famous for its talents on music. There are alot of famous musician in Indonesia that originally comes from Bandung. Bandung’s love of music also can be seen by some store that has collection of old records from abroad, as well as from Indonesia.

If you’d like to spend your time enjoying music, why don’t you try to look for some old phonograph records in this town. Yes, a working sound phonograph records. Just come to Bursa Musik.

This place is actually famous, but it’s rather difficult to find. That’s because it is situated inside a building on Jalan Asia Afrika. Just find the grand Central Post Office in the Asia-Africa Avenue, and not far from it there is a building named Dezon. This building is used to sell second hand clothes like the style of Gedebage Market. Look for a little bit into one corner then you’ll find a full music booth and it’s full of posters as way. Usually it is crowded by the visitors who look for some secondhand tapes.

This kiosk mainly sell second-hand, a more classic phonograph records. You can find so many imported old phonograph records. The prices vay from Rp. 150.000,- to Rp. 1.500.000,- depends on the antiquity and rarity of the records.
