Zoe's Corner which located on Jl. Pager Gunung 3, Bandung, is a reading zone, but it has a nice cafe as well. So, people can come here other than to enjoy the food, but also to enjoy the book readings that is provided there. In addition to books that can be read in zone of reading, Zoe Corner naturally also provide books for you to buy that is placed in the area of ​​Zoe Bookstore.

Zoe actually stands for Zone of Entertainment and Education. The concept to be applied is the one stop edutainment. For Zoe's Corner also complements its facilities with Zoe Movie where we can rent movies that are available.

Komunitas Hong (Sundanese Playing Community)

It might surprise you that Sundanese children have hundreds of traditional toys and games. Games that must be played in real life - not virtually like PlayStation. Most of the toys are made of bamboo and some other materials too. While the games mostly played in groups, or at least should be played by two children. You might also wonder why some of the toys has similarity to your toys back home.

This community formally named Komunitas Hong - Pusat Kajian Mainan Rakyat (Center of Folk Toys Research). It was founded on 2003 and has done research on toys and games before it was founded. This community strive to search and reconstruct traditional folks games and toys. They aim is to collect hundreds (maybe thousands) of Indonesian folks toys and games. However, at the moment they still concentrate to search into the Sundaneses first.

Actually this community is based in Subang, north of Bandung. Fortunately, now they have a base here in Bandung that you can visit at most times. Even easier, you can meet this community in Car Free Day Dago area every Sunday morning.

Let’s go back to your childhood and try out some unique traditional toys that surely will get your interest.

Kopi Aroma Traditional Coffee Maker

All you coffee-lovers put on your mocha loafers, for it's time for a trip down memory lane. Don't spill your beans, but let them drain. Aroma's Coffee Factory has been in the business of making good earnest coffee since the 1930's. When you enter the small shop on Jalan Banceuy, central Bandung, its wooden interior and antique coffee paraphernalia such as old coffee machines and bronze scales will make you think that you stepped into a movie set. Aroma's coffee factory remains dedicated to entrepreneurial craftsmanship that keeps rusty German made coffee burners from the 1930's a foundation instead of a relic from a long forgotten past.


Everything in the factory is still hand-labor, from the picking and sorting of the beans to the roasting and packing. The coffee beans coming mainly from Sumatra and Jawa are dried in the back yard for an hour and then piled sack upon sack rising more than 10 meters above our heads in the storage room, where the Robusta beans will dry for 5 years, while the Arabica beans require an astonishing 8 years of lying around.


Get a taste of authenticity and drop by at Aroma's. Open daily, if you want a behind the scenes look on the coffee making process, be there before 2 o clock or call in beforehand.

Gasibu Market Shock!

Market Shock is the term used by Bandung people or "Pasar Kaget" in bahasa Indonesia. This is because it normally nothing, no market around this area. But suddenly you will find this huge crowded market in Sunday morning!

If you visit the city of Bandung on Sunday morning, do not be surprised, if you see crowds and congestion that occurred in front of Gedung Sate Bandung, precisely around the Square Gasibu Bandung.

The atmosphere here is very crowded, because the presence of an impromptu market or “market-shock” is often called, are filled by various people from various circles of society.

Gasibu market that claimed to be surprisingly the biggest market in Bandung, there is only on Sundays from 06.00 am until 12.00 noon.

From the selling, exercising, just walking, like shopping for food or blend into one in this market. The goods sold here are also varied, ranging from vegetables, pets, bags, clothing, tools, electronics as well as merchants who sell clothing, shirts and pants and a wide range of accessories at low prices.

Usually exercise activities more deliberately excluded because typically most come to look around while enjoying the atmosphere of the morning in Gasibu was intending to look for food and shopping here. For foodies, this market is a typical street food paradise, as here you can find variety of snacks and food, like chicken rice steam, pureed chicken, chicken satay, roasted rice, rice lead, shake noodles, fried rice Sate Jebred, Lontong Kari, Rice Mix, Semur Jengkol, various Curried, various kit and much more than you can imagine!

Dago Car Free Day

Meet the real citizen of Bandung. Just go to the Dago Street (Ir. H. Juanda) on Sunday morning. Just remember not to take your car or motorbike, because it will be a car free day on that street.


For all residents in Bandung this one should be popular. It's a Sunday morning event in Jalan Juanda, start from under the fly over and ended close to the Dipati Ukur intersection, a car-free-day event. Unfortunately, it's not all day long. It's a 6-10 am event. All cars and motorcycles are banned to enter. All the people who walk, ride a bicycle can watch some people do some street performance.

What is sold here mostly of the American comics, such as the publishing from DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and many others. There is also a Japanese comic though. But this collection is not as much as American comics collection. Still, the Japanese comics are also originally purchased from  the USA, that  has been translated into English. In addition to comics, they also sell posters, action figures, model kits, t-shirts, hats, gamecards, and much more. Uniquely, all goods sold here are originally imported. So blame it on the dollar exchange rate continues to climb if you are simply furious with the price offered here.

SBW program (Sunday Bird Watching) is an umbrella program for the entire work program BICONS. The main menu on this program as a mean to instill the love of the environment and building a critical awareness of Bandung society through environmental education programs.  SBW routinely held every Sunday at 07:00 to 10:00 am at Ganesha Park and other choice locations in the city of Bandung.


BICONS (Bird Conservation Society) is established by group of birders to support bird conservation and its habitat. BICONS was founded in September 24th 1999, based on reality of depression of wildlife existence in urban area. Birds as entry point are applied for any BICONS conservation environmental efforts. BICONS’ vision is “To sensitize people in conservation of bird and its habitat”, demonstrated in programs which focused on research, capacity building, public awareness, supporting conducive policy, and networking development.

There is no ‘membership’ or membership fees in Bandung Trails. By simply joining our mailing list, bters-subscribe@yahoogroups.com you will be updated with information on our Heritage in Togetherness events and be entitled to receiving special rate for the events (see below).

Participation is open to men, women, and children of all nationalities - particularly those who are interested in exploring Bandung and its heritage.

Our activities include:

• Heritage in Togetherness ; heritage-related programs, mostly heritage walks/tours, which are held 3 - 5 times a year and open to the public. They are non-profit ones and participants pay only for interpreter, meals, entry ticket(s), and other basic costs.
• Students Go Heritage ; heritage-related programs for groups of students
