Some couple of years ago, Bandung has been appointed as an ' Emerging Creative City' of Asia. Despite that declaration, I know that the people of Bandung, especially the youth, always come up with ideas that become trends in Indonesia. This city also has been giving birth to many talented artists and musician who then give influence to the music scene in the country.
Bandung had become the pilot project for the Creative Cities program that had been held in Indonesia. This concept of Bandung as a creative city is agreed by the government of Bandung. As a creative city project, Bandung is expected to formulate an applicable guidance in making a creative city.
Some of the most significant works are the creation of public spaces to be transformed physically and environmentally which support the creativity of the citizens. There are city parks turned into dazzling public space with creative contemporary styled sculptures.
The people of Bandung who works in creative industry also asked to re-imagine the city to make their city open to new ways of thinking, well networked, well designed and prosperous. Bandung also has to be developed professionally to accommodate generation of urban tourism from all over Indonesia, as well as from other countries.
